This term we have been working on our speech for the speech contest its in week 8 and I've already done mine here is my speech.

   Drugs  

Have ever got involved addictive drugs?

“Nah”bro. Good for you

Hi my name is Tyreece

and my speech is about addictive Drugs.

They have endangered children and caused deaths in many people around the world. I want to talk about the drugs healthy people use who think they are fun, cool to use,                                                                                                         but get addicted and cannot get off them.

What  kind of drugs are we talking about?

We’re talking about cocaine, cannabis, Heroin.

Here are 3 reasons why we shouldn't

Get involved with drugs.

Firstly It causes many deaths around the world. Secondly it's addictive.

Thirdly it's very expensive.

How do drugs cause deaths?  People are so addicted they overdose - look at Elvis Presley, Prince - they are just a couple of rock stars who overdosed, what about all the thousands of “normal” people who have died from overdoses?

Why are they addictive - Scientists think that all addictive drugs activate the brain's

Reward system. Dopamine, a chemical in the drug tells the brain this is fun and then you just want to keep taking them. For people who are addicted in NZ there are many places for them to go to get support to help them get off drugs.  It is a long painful process so better not to start in the first place.

It is very sad when people have to feed their addiction, it is so expensive - they do this by stealing from others and then using the money to buy more drugs - then they just get into more and more trouble.

Out of 80% of people out of my class are voting no because they are bad for you and you should never get involved with drugs.

My advice would be to never get involved with drugs.
